Eric Voegelin
Philosophical oeuvre
Voegelin’s work is characterized by the fact that it does not fragment into a series of thematically disparate studies. Rather, all major individual studies—books as well as essays—are, despite their independence, connected by a central theme. Over the years and decades, this theme is pursued and refined in ever-new variations and is ultimately captured in the title of the final volume, namely the “search for order,” where the order in question is the order in the quadrangle of God and man, world and society.
